LCOA acts on your computer only as far as its Reach allows. You choose the level. Each one adds to the one before, everything above Watch is previewed first, and the riskiest steps are timed.
What stays on your computer
- Your chats and files
- Stored on this computer, under your account there, and deleted with it.
- Every prompt and answer
- The models run on your processor. Nothing you type is sent to a model in the cloud.
- Your voice
- Listening and speaking both happen on the computer.
- Folders
- LCOA asks before it reads a folder, one folder at a time.
What goes online, and only then
- Web search, when you switch it on
- The search words go to Bing. The model reading the results stays local.
- Downloads
- Models, voices and updates, each checked against a published hash or signature before it is used.
- Update checks
- The app asks whether a newer signed version exists.
- Google, if you connect it
- Mail and calendar requests go to Google, as they would from any mail app.
