What stays on your PC

Starter chat, speech, and listening run on your PC. Web search sends search terms to a search provider; connected services use their own connections.

Grant folder access and review actions that require approval. Computer tools follow the permissions you’ve enabled.

Try the app and help shape what comes next. No invented promises: this is early software, and models can make mistakes.

How it works

Install it. The installer includes the app, the voice and listening models, and the runtime. It does not include a chat model.
Choose a model. In Settings, LCOA shows the models that fit your PC’s memory. Download one, or let Triangle Auto choose among the ones you have.
Ask. Type or talk. Chat, writing and code run on your computer.
Approve changes. Anything that changes a file, a calendar or a draft is shown to you first. Most changes can be undone.

Five levels of reach

You set how much LCOA may touch. The limit is enforced where tools run, and a tool that has not been classified is treated as the highest level. Only you can change it: nothing the model reads can raise it.

Level	What LCOA may do
Watch	Looks at your machine, mail and calendar. Never changes anything.
Tidy	Also tidies: sends files to the Recycle Bin, saves mail drafts and adds calendar events. It previews first and waits for your yes.
Do	Also opens files, folders, links and apps, and copies text to the clipboard.
Drive	Also brings windows forward and types or presses keys for you. Timed, and every step is previewed first.
Run	Also runs PowerShell commands you have seen. Timed, and every command is previewed first.

Tidy is where the app starts. Drive and Run are always timed and fall back to your resting level when the time is up.

What it will not do

Send email. With Google connected it can read mail and save drafts. It has no way to send.
Delete files for good. Files go to the Recycle Bin, after a preview.
Act on something it only read. Once LCOA has read text from outside, such as a web page, actions that change things are blocked.
Promise it is right. Models can make mistakes. LCOA is a beta, and nothing here has been tested against other tools for speed or quality.

For developers

On Plus, LCOA can serve your installed models to other programs on your computer, and it can act as an MCP server and client. None of it leaves your PC.

Local API

An OpenAI-style API on your own machine: GET /v1/models and POST /v1/chat/completions, protected by a key. Point a program that expects an OpenAI-compatible endpoint at it.

MCP server

lcoa mcp speaks the Model Context Protocol over standard input and output. It offers read-only tools that look at your machine, calendar and tasks, the models installed here, and lcoa_chat, which asks one of them a question and can read attached text, PDF, Word and image files. Two more tools connect Google: lcoa_google_status and lcoa_google_connect, which opens Google’s own sign-in for you to approve.

MCP client

Add a server with lcoa mcp-add and LCOA can use its tools. Every call from a connected server is previewed first, needs the top reach level, and runs in a stripped-down environment that holds none of LCOA’s keys.
